The Personal Behind-the-Scenes

When I was wrestling with the “shadow” of my Cerebral Palsy, I realized I had been using my ministry work as a persona to hide my perceived fragility. I thought that if I was “the strong pastor” or “the successful missionary,” people wouldn’t notice the limp or the right-side weakness. I was terrified of being reduced to a cliché or dismissed because of it.

But the Holy Spirit began to whisper:
