I really appreciated this piece. The way you connected Jung’s idea of the persona with the spiritual cost of performing faith felt especially sharp. That contrast between outward maturity and vulnerable intimacy with God was so well drawn.

Thank you so much. I’m really glad that connection landed for you, because that tension feels central to so much of the Christian life: looking spiritually mature on the outside while still keeping parts of the soul hidden from God.

For me, that’s where Jung’s language becomes so illuminating. The persona helps explain how faith can remain outwardly strong while intimacy with God stays strangely underdeveloped. That contrast has become one of the places I keep returning to in my writing here.

Yes — that feels deeply true. So much can look whole on the surface while something more honest is still waiting underneath.

How lovely to find your writing. Jung and Christianity? Of course!

Fantastic! There’s something about bringing Jung and Christianity into conversation that helps make sense of parts of the soul that often go unnamed in church spaces. Not as a replacement for faith, but as a way of seeing more clearly what God may already be doing within us.

Most of what I’m writing here is part of a larger project I’m developing week by week — a kind of unfolding theology of how the Spirit forms us at the level of the soul.

If you’re drawn to this intersection, you might really enjoy some of the recent articles.

I’d be curious what first sparked your interest in Jung and Christianity together.

I appreciate this and am reflecting on the mask of roles associated with identity formation and sense a call and development to greater intimacy with the Lord. At this point when so much is coming against me I am finding myself becoming more reserved and seeking the Lord in the quiet secret place.

Online formats are a struggle for me so I’m experimenting and trying to learn how to navigate this. I am not sure how to post this? Learning.

I’m really glad you shared this. What you’re describing, that movement toward quiet, toward the “secret place” is often where a deeper kind of intimacy with the Lord begins to take root, especially when life feels like it’s pressing in from all sides.

Becoming more reserved in that way isn’t something to worry about. It can actually be a form of protection and invitation at the same time, God gently drawing you inward so He can meet you there more personally.

And please don’t worry at all about the online side of things. You posted this just fine. There’s no pressure to get it perfect here, you’re learning, and that’s more than enough.

I’m really glad you are here!
